**Director of Fund Development, Eastern Canada Overview**

The Director of Fund Development, Eastern Canada focuses on developing relationships between Penny Appeal Canada and the community, including Masjids, Foundations, Charities, Community Groups and more, while implementing, facilitating, and managing fundraising strategies and initiatives in the eastern region. This primarily includes maintaining a donor database of active donors and prospective donors, with an emphasis on timely strategic actions in order to maximize revenue to fund Penny Appeal Canada’s various initiatives and programs. The Director of Fund Development, Eastern Canada will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships mainly in Ontario while managing fund development coordinators and Regional manager, Ontario. He/She will report to the Director of Development.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**
- Develop and execute a robust fundraising strategy to meet ambitious revenue targets in alignment with organizational goals.
- Diversify revenue streams by engaging individuals, corporations, congregations, and community groups through various channels including direct mail, workplace giving, events, major gifts, planned giving, and other initiatives.
- Establish and maintain an effective donor stewardship system to cultivate and retain supporters.
- Oversee development operations including data management, gift processing, acknowledgements, and income reconciliation for the eastern region.
- Manage relationships with Masjids and communities across Eastern Canada to facilitate year-round collections, campaign promotions, and fundraising events.
- Provide fundraising guidance and support to external stakeholders collaborating with Penny Appeal Canada.
- Leverage social media platforms to amplify Penny Appeal Canada's messaging, campaigns, and activities.
- Lead the coordination and execution of fundraising events, ensuring seamless logistics and availability of necessary materials and equipment.
- Manage inventory of fundraising supplies and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
- Direct and oversee the fundraising department, implementing work plans and monitoring progress towards objectives.
- Prepare comprehensive progress and activity reports for the Director of Development, CEO, and Board of Directors.
- Stay informed about philanthropic trends and poverty alleviation issues to inform fundraising strategies.
- Generate and manage financial reports as required, contributing to effective financial management.
- Supervise recruitment efforts for Team Orange to support Penny Appeal's initiatives.
- Ensure proper registration, training, and development of all volunteers engaged with Penny Appeal.

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- A demonstrated interest and commitment to the mission of PA Canada
- Bachelor's Degree in nonprofit management, development, marketing, or related field preferred
- At least 7 years of experience in a fundraising role preferred
- Track record of successfully planning and executing fundraising strategies that secure support from individual donors, corporations, congregations, and foundations
- Success in raising significant individual gifts, Masjid, corporate, and foundation support
- Experience with upgrading donors and building a donor pipeline
- Experience preparing budgets and producing reports
- Ability to see the big picture and think strategically while also being able to executive tactical tasks
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking abilities; highly organized, possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized, capable of balancing and prioritizing concurrent projects and deadlines
- A natural team player who enjoys supporting and collaborating with colleagues
