**Summary**:Coordinate, monitor, assist and report work activities in the bag and film production areas to ensure the efficient and safe manufacture of quality products among all shifts.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Ensure employees have the necessary training, equipment, parts and materials to perform their duties.
- Assign duties to employees in line with their capabilities.
- Identify deficiencies in skills and address with on-the-job training and reinforcement.
- Keep the management up to date with all changes including work-in-progress
- Report existing and potential work place issues to management.
- Monitor work to ensure it is being done safely and efficiently, and that the level of productivity and quality are in line with company expectations. Mitigate and report any and all issues that arise.
- Ensure employees work in a safe manner and abide by all company policies and rules.
- Continuously develop and implement improved production methods to minimize labour hours and overtime and to maximize product quality.
- Be an active participant in creating and implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Troubleshoot production problems and provide assistance to operators as required.
- Lead and provide assistance to the operators as required.
- Accurate and timely completion of all production, materials and inventory related documents
- Close all work orders in a timely manner.
- Work with Customer Service department to set up production schedule scenarios for meeting demand
- Prepare reporting including scrap reports, silo reports and shift reports as required.
- Demonstrate leadership skills by following company policies and rules, working in a safe manner, focusing on the production of quality products and encouraging a positive work environment.
- Conducts training. Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations.
- Preparing shift schedules & planning and allocation of resources.
- Vacations approvals for operators & assistance.
- Finding replacements for vacations and absences.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety and other standards including BSCI..
- Understand and comply with all HACCP and GMP policies
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Some post secondary school technical qualifications
- Demonstrated process knowledge on how to trouble shoot co-extrusion production ( Blown film process)
- 3-5 years of solid experience in a related supervisor role
- Proficient computer skills including a working knowledge of typical spread-sheeting, and word processing software.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
- Strong physical endurance.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and team skills.
- Flexibility to work either days or nights is an asset.

**Salary**: $33.00-$34.00 per hour
