**Job Title**:HR Administrator
**Company**: Shawanaga First Nation
**Location**: 2 Village Road Nobel, Ontario P0G 1G0 (30 kilometres northwest of Parry Sound and approximately 150 kilometres southeast of Sudbury)
**Job type**: Permanent & Full-Time
**Job Status**:In-office, 5 days a week based on a 37.5 hour work week
**Salary**:$70K-75K based on experience
**Compensation**:Health benefits and pension
**Perks**:2 weeks paid vacation over Chritsmas and 2 additional weeks for the rest of the year
**Position Summary**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities,and delegating work accordingly
- Determine staffing requirements for the administration department and oversee the hiring of staff
- Evaluate policies and procedures and provide recommendations for changes to improve efficiency
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations
- Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- Administer disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures
- Analyze departmental operations and identify areas requiring improvement
- Approve overtime hours as required
- Conduct monthly reporting
- Ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations
- Ensure that employees adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Handle employee complaints and incidents, including conflict resolution, accidents,
- health and safety concerns, work refusals, and investigations
- Provide informal feedback and coaching to staff on an ongoing basis
- Translate strategic goals into practical actions
- Additional duties as required
**Job Requirements**
- Ability to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance
- Ability to initiate and model positive change
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of employees
- Experience with coaching and employee development
- Degree or an advanced degree in business administration, management, or a related field of human resources
- Three years of experience in a management role and five years of experience in a related industry
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions
- Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations

- Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Interaction with employees, management, and the public at large
- Operation of desktop computer and peripherals
- Attendance and conducting of presentations

Shawanaga First Nation belongs to the larger Anishnabek Nation which stretches across much of Ontario, east across the Prairies and around the northern shores of all the Great Lakes. The Anishnabek Nation is comprised of Algonquin, Saulteaux, Anishnabe (Ojibway), Odawa, Chippewa and several other groups.
