At IDMYS we provide all-inclusive care in a residential setting to one of the most vulnerable populations; at-risk youth. All-inclusive care includes things such as cooking, cleaning, driving to and from appointments, offering emotional and behavioural support, and more We offer care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and have a variety of shifts available.

**About the Job**

The purpose of this position is to monitor and attend to the well being and safety of persons served during the night and maintain a comfortable and clean living environment.

This agency provides residential services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This position includes schedules made up of hourly shifts and a potential to work on holidays and weekends. We are currently hiring for part time Awake Overnight Positions. Locations in Greater Victoria, from Sidney and Saanich to Westshore. Location and shifts may vary based on the needs of the agency and the Persons Served.

This position is open to all applicants over the age of 19.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Monitors persons served through the night and attends to any medical and behavioural needs that arise during the night.
- Follows through on direction regarding specific persons served left by the day staff.
- Notifies employees of any major problems or emergencies. Responds to emergencies in accordance with established processes and procedures.
- Supports persons served with their morning and evening routines at the beginning and end of the shift.
- Ensures that persons served follow house rules. Monitors curfew regulations and reports to appropriate authorities as required.
- Administers medications to persons served in accordance with established policy.
- Ensures that logbooks and other documentation such as charts and incident reports are complete.
- Performs light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, emptying garbage, cleaning and laundry. Performs minor building maintenance such as changing light bulbs. Reports maintenance needs to facilities department as needed.
- Secures the resource by arming alarms and locking doors and windows.
- Prepares and assists persons served in breakfast preparation.
- Performs other duties as required.

**Compensation and hours**

Compensation starts at $21.63 per hour to start and requires union membership.
Benefits as per collective agreement.

**Qualifications**
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Six months recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Class 5 driver’s license.
- Must be at least 19 years old.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

**Working Conditions**

This position requires the ability to work with challenging persons served with a wide range of behaviors and needs and may require the employee to both sit or stand for long periods of time. This position involves working with persons served experiencing extreme mental health and behaviour concerns - physical interventions may be required as needed.
