**SUMMARY**

Work with the production and compounding managers to maximize productivity and throughput. Lead, organize and supervise maintenance team to ensure production goals are achieved and unplanned downtime is minimized, while maintaining the highest level of safety within the plant at all times. Drive Continuous Improvement throughout the plant and manage sub-contractors and vendors as required. Take a key leadership role in developing new ideas/methods to improve safety, quality and productivity throughout the plant.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- May include, but are not limited to, the following:_
- To assist the compounding, shipping, and production managers to keep the equipment capacity at near 100% at all times.
- Direct and coordinate, through supervisory personnel and employees, activities of repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, maintenance of buildings, grounds, and plant utility systems.
- Review job orders to determine work priorities. Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Communicate with production and management personnel regarding unplanned downtime, and scheduling of planned downtime.
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modification with design engineer.
- Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve safety issues and maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Develop a proactive approach to maintain equipment and building (i.e. Preventative Maintenance Program) - drive a culture of Preventative Maintenance.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout plant ie 5S.
- As a member of the senior management team at the Woodbridge Siding facility, participates in in team meetings, strategic planning and PIP.
- Participate in department budget allocation decisions and manage relationships with vendors & contractors.
- Directly supervises the maintenance department; oversees the performance management, attendance and training functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience, with a minimum 5 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong program/project management skills.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, problem solving abilities, and effective management skills.
- Must have strong computer skills using MS Office products, experience with PM software preferred.
- Technically minded individual, with strong knowledge PVC extrusion process.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
