**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Grade 12 graduation or equivalent;
- Experience working with youth;
- Strong secondary or post-secondary performance in Mathematics, English and Science;
- Experience working with children with behavior needs and experiencing difficulties with self-regulation;
- Trauma-Informed Care Training would be an asset;
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training would be an asset;
- Experience working in a high school setting would be an asset;
- Restorative Justice Training would be an asset;
**DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY**:

- Post-secondary training as Educational Assistant / Exceptionality Worker Program;'
- A knowledge of and sensitivity to the culture and aspirations of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nations people of Yukon;
- Special Educational Assistant certificate or related area would be an asset;
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and parents;
- Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;
- Ability to work as a member of a team;
- Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision;
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- Security Clearance (Vulnerable Sector Check) prior to starting work;
- Standard First Aid Certificate or a willingness to complete within 3 months;
- Requirement to complete TH 101 with first six months of employment;;
- Completion of the Educational Assistant Module by the end of the 2023/24 school year.
