**IT Asset & Licensing Analyst (IT Department)**

**Job Summary**

The IT Asset & Licensing Analyst reports to the Senior Director of Infrastructure & Operations and will provide increased control, visibility, and assigned responsibility over hardware maintenance contracts, warranties, software OPEX licensing, and Azure cloud subscriptions.

This role will be an important part of Fasken’s overall strategy and will establish an asset management process (ITAM) to provide up-to-date information to reduce risks and costs. This essential process will establish a single source of truth when optimizing budgets, supporting lifecycle management, and making decisions that impact the entire organization.

Core hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; however, other set hour arrangements will be considered. Occasional pre-authorized overtime may be required to meet client needs. This role can be located in any of the Canadian cities that Fasken has offices. Hybrid remote work arrangements are available with requirements as per business needs for onsite office support.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Optimizing the collection and organization of all IT software and hardware assets
- Performing data reconciliation and remediation activities to ensure data accuracy and quality
- Analyzing software and service contracts and acting as the point person for all IT OPEX invoice management
- Ensure the accuracy and auditability on all licensing transactions and provide ad hoc reporting
- Providing proactive alerts and guidance to IT management teams on upcoming software licensing renewals and service/warranty expirations
- Establishing and managing relationships with key hardware and software vendors
- Assessing and managing the firm’s technical debt, such reporting, planning and providing risk assessments of end-of-life hardware, operating systems, and unsupported software versions.

**Required Knowledge and Experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent industry work experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with software invoicing, licensing and IT asset management
- Working knowledge of ITAM and FinOps best practices
- Knowledge of governance and compliance related to Software Asset Management best practices
- Knowledge of software vendor licensing rules and terms including Microsoft Azure and Adobe, including tactical negotiation
- Working knowledge of procurement best practices for agreements and contracts
- Working knowledge of ITSM best practices to achieve standardization of requests
- Working knowledge with software license management tools (i.e. Snow)
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel including creating vlookups, pivot tables, charts and graphs
- Knowledge of general IT operations, operating system management, databases and integration are a plus
