**Role**:
The Health Information Systems Division has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Test Analyst in the Strategic IMT Services Branch.

The Quality Assurance and Testing (QAT) team contributes to an important part of the software development life-cycle that the department relies upon to meet its operational requirements.

You will play a significant role in ensuring that testing activities are planned and executed by the external vendors and Alberta Health internal teams. You are required to work closely with Alberta Health internal and other external health system stakeholders throughout the development life-cycle of priority projects and major system enhancements to ensure appropriate processes, standards and testing rigor are effectively applied resulting in higher quality solutions.

As Alberta Health IT initiatives move towards requiring more complex and integrated IT solutions, test coordination and oversight tasks becomes more critical to stay organized and support business teams for the User Acceptance Testing activities.

**Qualifications**:
**A University graduation** in a related discipline such as Information Technology or Computer Science and a minimum of **Two (2) years **progressively related experience is **required**.

**Required** experience includes:

- Experience working in leading and coordinating Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities on medium to large scale initiatives with multiple system integrations and stakeholders
- Experience using development and testing tools/technologies such as: Defect Management Tools, Test Automation Tools
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Software Development Lifecycles and Software Testing Life Cycles
- Extensive knowledge and experience leading/coordinating and executing testing activities relating to System Test, System Integration Test, and User Acceptance Test

**Preference** will be given to individuals with:

- Over Six (6) years of related experience
- Experience with Software development and Testing Lifecycles
- Experience with dealing with integrated IT solutions
- Experience with project management principles and lifecycles
- Experience with HL7/System to System messages and ETL
- Experience working with Information technology solution vendors
- Experience with administrating/configuring testing tools

The following experience is considered an **asset**:

- Software Testing professional certificate from recognized organizations such as ISTQB or QAI

Related experience or education maybe considered as an equivalency:

- a related two-year diploma in computer technology or a related discipline from a recognized postsecondary institution and four (4) years related experience;
or
- a related one-year certificate from a recognized postsecondary institution and five (5) years related experience.

**$2,678.67 - $3,677.93** ($69,913 to $95,994/year)
