Reporting to the General Supervisor of Transit Facilities Maintenance, this position is the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) Branch primary and single point of contact for all Integrated Infrastructure Services (IIS) led renewal and growth capital projects.

With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to be Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:

- Primary point of contact between IIS and the entire ETS Branch for all Growth and Renewal project work. Attend and facilitate meetings, answer questions and coordinate responses
- Coordinate design reviews on behalf of the ETS Branch to ensure that relevant stakeholders are not missed. Ensure design review comments are addressed and attend design review meetings
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure that ETS design standards are being met
- Ensure projects are planned in a manner that is the least disruptive to Transit Operations and ETS Transit Riders
- Ensure safety risks to the public and ETS employees are identified and controlled through all stages of the project according to the safety program or site safety program
- Ensure the project abides by any applicable City of Edmonton Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Standards and Guidelines
- Work closely with Corporate Communications to ensure that proper communication goes out to the public and senior leadership teams
- Work with IIS to resolve warranty and or design deficiencies
- Coordinate project turnovers by ensuring that Operating & Maintenance manuals are included, training & orientation sessions have been completed, maintenance contracts are in place, and utility ownership is transferred to the City
- Review type and complexity of design and construction techniques, material required, collect and analyze existing data for further design review
- Perform site inspections of the work for conformance with drawings, specifications and codes
- Provide recommendation on mitigation strategies for any contractual variances as it applies to scope, schedule and budget and implement as directed
- Responsible for smaller and specialized project delivery for the ETS Branch
- Responsible for creating and updating the 20 year renewal plan for LRT Operations & Maintenance. Ensuring all major types are included in the plan such as Facilities, Tunnels, Bridges, Track & Right of Way, Overhead Catenary, Signals, and Substations
- Review and provide comments on all ULAs through E-Circulation for conflicts with Transit Centers, LRT Stations, and LRT Right of Way (ROW)

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 8 years directly related experience in project management for infrastructure planning, design, construction, or an area of specialization is a requirement with a 2 year diploma in a technical field
**OR**
A minimum of 6 years directly related experience in project management for infrastructure planning, design, construction, or an area of specialization is a requirement with a 4 year degree in a technical field
- Bachelor of sciences or engineering or Master's degree in technical or management field would be an asset
- Project Management education or training is required
- Membership in ASET with a CET or APEGA with a P. Eng would be an asset
- Membership with PMI with a PMP would be an asset
- Knowledge of ETS Operations, maintenance & repair requirements, and facilities
- Proficient with computerized programs such as Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides, and project management systems
- Knowledge and experience with scheduling software would be an asset
- Experience with Transit Operations or a production related environment
- Customer service focused with the ability to effectively interact, communicate, influence, and collaborate with a variety of partners and stakeholders including senior management, other COE staff, and contractors
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop strong relationships and work in a collaborative, integrated manner
- Excellent negotiation, problem solving, and conflict management skills
- Safety focused with knowledge of OH&S legislation
- Maintenance or construction experience with track, facilities, electrical, or mechanical systems
- Ability to obtain B-Book certification
- Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of projects
- Proven planning, organizational and problem solving skills
- Strong project coordination skills including an understanding of project management methods and techniques (Project Management Body of Knowledge best practices)
- Ability to create accurate and complete job hazard analysis, site reports and other written documentation
- Ability to identify project risks and recommend controls and contingency plans
- Conduct work in a manner that complies with the requirements set out in the City's Environmental Management System (EMS)
