**Pay grid**: SAT (Supervisor, Administrator, Trades) $46,683 - $63.973 annually

**Reporting to**:Director of Lands and Resources

**Summary of Duties**:
Reporting to the Director of Land & Resources, the GIS Technician & Administrative Assistant carries out technical and administrative tasks for the effective management of data and mapping projects related to the land and resources within Lil’wat Territory, including on-reserve lands. Responsibilities include assisting in daily, weekly, monthly administrative tasks and managing the data organization and Geographic Information System (GIS) for the Lands and Resources Department.

**Key Deliverables and Expectations**:

- Manages and maintains the Nation's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database, including the Lil'wat Land Registry.
- Executes data collection and analysis and designs and creates maps and related products for all departments with Lil’wat Nation.
- Support on-reserve land registrations with GPS work via marking property boundaries, confirming fences are in the correct location, and collecting data for disputes.
- Manages the organization and overall maintenance of Lands and Resources Department Spatial data.
- Supports Department Managers and Director in administrative tasks; minute-taking, meeting coordination, community engagement events and communications, payroll, etc.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Lil’wat Nation formal Plans, Policies, Standards and Procedures, and as directed by the Director of the Land and Resources.
- Maintains confidentiality on all matters related to the affairs of the Lil’wat Nation.
- Perform other related duties as requested.

**Experience and Attributes**:

- A certificate or diploma in Geographic Information Systems or related field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with GIS and data management preferred.
- Experience coordinating and/or managing land use management projects.
- Previous experience working for a First Nation Government an asset.
- Advance level of computer skills and knowledge, including Arc GIS, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Access and Excel).
- Proficient data management analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of land management issues and legislation affecting First Nations both locally, regionally and federally.
- Knowledge and understanding of Lil’wat Nation’s culture, history, reserve lands and traditional territory.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as be a cooperative and contributing member of a team.
- Clear Criminal Record Check including the vulnerable sector.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle.
