**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

To enable the Gates Canada, Brantford Operations meet its business plan objectives through the performance of accurate Inventory records.

**Scope of Role**

Reports to the Demand Manager, Gates Canada Inc., Brantford.
- Purchase resale goods to achieve inventory and service level objectives
- Purchase from Gates Inter-company and non-related third part vendors
- Achieve service level and inventory targets
- Provide customer best possible deliveries
- Goods coordinated to meet required customer orders/forecasted requirements
- Direct shipments arranged as required with vendors to meet the needs of customers

**Education and Experience**
- Community College or equivalent 5 years' experience in purchasing, material control or related areas
- Solid computer skills

**Required Skills**:

- Must possess the necessary skills to communicate well verbally and in writing with all internal and external contacts.
- Must have superior organizational skills, priority setting and decision-making skills
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work under pressure with mínimal supervision
- Training in MPS+ software is a must, and more important, is the understanding and logic of planning systems to be able to determine abnormalities or challenge order recommendations based on experience and knowledge of the market needs rather than merely accepting software recommendations.
- Independent decision making is expected
- Daily contact with various departments, management personnel, intercompany and 3rd party vendors; Denver International Services; warehouse staff at all Distribution Centers that ship to Gates Canada Inc and CSR's at 3rd party vendors.

**Physical Demands**

While performing the required duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit; use hands to reach, handle, manipulate and feel objects, tools, and controls. The employee will need to listen and talk to other employees. Specific vision capabilities required as the employee is to work in front of a computer on a day-to-day basis.

**Working Environment**

The noise level is moderate, lighting is mild, and the space is comfortable. Dust levels are existent but mínimal. The temperature is always consistent, keeping the employees comfortable.
