Host Agency Support Worker Wanted

Community Living Victoria (CLV) is the largest non-profit community living service provider on Vancouver Island, and provides a range of support services to children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Support Summary:
M is a very independent and well spoken 45 year old man. He has a cat and enjoys his coffee. M enjoys playing softball, bowling, going to movies, and playing video games. He is interested in gardening and loves being around horses. M is a good listener and enjoys being able to give support and advice to his friends. Being independent, working, and eventually making enough money to be fully independent is important to him. M is looking for support with companionship, grocery shopping, basic cooking, checking online networking services, recreation and activities, establishing a routine and supporting personal independence while working towards individual goals. He also is newly involved with counselling and SA Anonymous, and will require a couple of rides to his programs. Vehicle required.
- have previous experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities and autism
- have a current first aid certification or be willing to re-certify
- willing to consent to a Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Justice
- have a Class 5 Driver’s license and vehicle
- be creative, flexible, friendly, and able to establish trust
- be health conscious and in good health
- be vaccinated for Covid and are willing to provide a copy of their vaccine passport

This position is an independent contract and as such, contractors are not employees of Community Living Victoria. These contracts are renewed on an annual basis contingent upon both parties wanting to continue the contract, and if credentials are up to date.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 8 per week

**Salary**: $26.20 per hour

- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
