**COMPUTER AND AV REPAIR TECHNICIAN**

The Upper Grand District School Board invites qualified applicants for this **full-time, 1.0 FTE temporary **position. Duties will commence as soon as possible and will end October 9, 2023, with possibility for extension. Working as part of the IT Team, the Computer and AV Repair Technician provides support for the administrative and academic needs of the Board by executing the IT Plan to promote Student Success and Learning.

**LOCATION**:Guelph Board Office (500 Victoria Road N, Guelph, ON N1E 6K2)

**SALARY RANGE**:$25.83 to $32.29 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act (35 hours per week)

6% market adjustment to be applied. Hourly rate for this role is: $27.38 to $34.23 plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act

**FTE/HOURS**:1.0 FTE (35 hours per week)

**BOARD INFORMATION**:OCT Union, 12-month position

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to the Manager, Technical Support and Projects, this position is responsible for:

- Recommending and purchasing repair parts, supplies, equipment and related products
- Conducting research on and making recommendations for hardware repair parts and services. Assisting IT Field Technicians with HW and SW problem resolution.
- Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting end user devices, printing/scanning devices, presentation AV equipment and other products
- Installing AND supporting over 30,000 MS Windows, MAC OS, Chrome OS, iOS, Android devices
- Providing backup support for IT Support Technicians including Help Desk
- Performing on-site analysis, diagnosis and resolution of complex hardware problems for a variety of end users, recommending and implementing corrective solutions, including on-site (schools and board offices) repair as needed
- Developing and maintaining an inventory process for repaired equipment, parts and charge-backs to internal departments
- Manage external vendors/suppliers for equipment supplies and repairs
- Recommending, scheduling and performing hardware and peripheral equipment improvement upgrades and repairs as needed
- Helps to develop and document IT best practices and processes using the UGsupport (TopDesk)

Service Management software
- Learn and adhere to IT Service Management processes and procedures. Track 100% of all issues and requests, 100% of all scheduled and proactive work and document 100% of all workloads, processes and procedures.
- Additional hours and travel may be required beyond the regular scheduled hours
- Other duties as assigned at any school board location or Board office within the UGDSB

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Electronic Technician or Electronic Technologist Diploma from a recognized Community College or equivalent related experience
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to support positive, courteous and friendly interactions with customers, colleagues and other technical staff
- Must be organized and responsible
- Must be able to work with a large and varied Board staff
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
- Customer service and Quality/Continuous Improvement training and experiences would be an asset
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), A+, Network+, GAFE/Google G-Suite certifications preferred
- Microsoft SCCM deployment tools and PowerShell Scripting skills would be an asset
- Working technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, Chromium, iOS, and Android operating systems
- Familiarity with Dell Desktops, Laptops and Chromebooks and HP printers preferred
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required
