**Overall responsibility**:
Display the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times within all food and beverage areas.
Takes orders for, and serves food and beverages to guests in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
**Location**:Vancouver International Airport.
**Key Areas of Duties and Responsibility**
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner.
- Take customer’s orders; identify customers' special dietary needs and special requests; transmit orders to the kitchen
- Stay updated on current menu choices and specialties, etc. with the ability to make suggestions
- Help customers select food and beverages; offering; suggesting; explaining the chef's specialties;
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor
- Assist with special events if needed
- Follow sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
- Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary
- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets the legal drinking age, perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar patrons, pour beverages; prep for service; stock bar; carry out opening and closing duties
- Complete liquor requisitions, restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
- Ring food orders if the guest wants to order at the bar.
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
**Qualities & Requirements**
- Serving It Right (SIR) Certificate
- Previous customer service experience required
- Previous server experience as an asset
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills required
- Pass Airport Security Clearance Check; holding a valid airport ID as an asset
- High school graduates
