**Nature & Scope of Position**:
The Fabricator is responsible for laying out and fabricating metal assemblies and weldments, utilizing various welding, forming, and fabrication processes. They will interpret technical drawings and verbal instructions to plan and accomplish project goals while ensuring high-quality workmanship and meeting deadlines.

**Responsibilities**:

- Weld, fabricate, and repair multiple types of metal using appropriate welding techniques
- Position, align, fit, and weld parts using jigs, hand tools, and welding equipment
- Determine the most suitable welding process for each job to ensure efficiency and quality
- Study blueprints to understand project task sequences and requirements
- Inspect materials to ensure compliance with client specifications
- Identify and rectify defects or problems in materials, equipment, or structures
- Hold finished products to specified tolerances and maintain high aesthetic standards
- Demonstrate proficiency in welding and repairing various materials
- Perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks as needed
- Interpret blueprints and drawings accurately
- Accurately use measuring instruments and tools
- Adhere to safety practices and regulations in the welding shop
- Maintain work tools in a clean & safe manner, following proper procedures for cleaning & maintenance
- Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications
- Assist in training co-op students as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Work collaboratively with the team to achieve company targets
- Occasionally perform deliveries in the company van during downtime
- Occasional travel to support the company's facility in Mexico, must have valid passport
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications/Required Skills**:

- Possessing or obtaining CWB welding training and certification is preferred but not required
- Minimum of 3 years of fabricating/welding experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols and specifications
- Knowledge of industry safety practices
- Familiarity with specific welding processes, such as MIG and TIG, is advantageous
- Competence in operating heavy machinery, including forklifts and cranes
