Accounting Clerk and Office Administrator

Edmonton, Canada Leston Holdings (1980) Ltd. Full time

Leston Holdings is a property management and development company with a growing portfolio of multi-family residential properties throughout Edmonton. We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting and Admin Assistant to start as soon as possible.

**Accounting Clerk**
- Assist with posting invoices to Sage 50 and Sage Intacct.
- Assist with issuing credit card or cheque payments as needed.
- Contact vendors to set up accounts and obtain contractor pricing.
- Monitor invoices for discrepancies, refunds, returns and miscellaneous charges.
- Assist with monitoring accounts receivable (tenant collections and payment plans).
- Monitor the collection and documentation of non-residential receivables.
- Maintain an orderly filing system.
- Assist with assembling financial data for year-end, new purchase financing and mortgage renewals.
- Assist with other accounting and administration projects or assignments.

**Office Administrator**
- Assist with incoming office calls & vacation coverage as needed.
- Set up new employee personnel files.
- Send out HR related forms and documents for electronic signature, on request or as per the established schedule.
- Participate in updating the company’s Employee Handbook and Corporate Policies.
- Update the Company’s online training guide.
- Have regular communication with other Leston Holdings’ contractors, employees and managers.
- Draft notices and letters as required.
- Carry out administrative activities of establishment.
- Oversee and co-ordinate office administrative procedures.
- Review, evaluate and implement new administrative procedures.
- Assist in ensuring that all Leston Holdings properties run effectively and efficiently.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Relatively high level of analytical ability to solve complex problems.
- Advanced level oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter, self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to produce a reasonable amount and quality of work for the level of the position.

**Qualifications**:

- Property management experience preferred.
- Accounting experience required.
- Diploma or Certificate in accounting would be an asset.
- Advanced in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Excellent knowledge of computerized accounting system software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to professionally support clients with service requests.
- Strong organizational skills to simultaneously prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
