**JOB SUMMARY**

Responsible for approximately 80% delivery driver duties and 20% administrative duties. Driving responsibilities include pickup of containers to and/or from customer locations, providing an effective and incident free delivery or pickup of a container while maintaining excellent rapport with the customer. Administrative duties include storage center operations, distribution of communications to staff, and route review when applicable.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Involved in planning and printing daily routes prior to driver’s arrival; fulfill morning SOPs
- May conduct daily pre shift meetings
- Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites in a safe manner by following all safety rules
- Perform and log daily pre and post trip inspections of commercial vehicle and lift
- Accept add-on deliveries as required to meet business needs
- Use company handheld device for delivery verification and navigation
- Meet all goals and metrics
- Operate a forklift when needed
- Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery to customer
- Communicate with the Market Manager on customer questions and/or issues; Prepare driver notes as needed
- Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center
- Provide backup for storage center functions when needed
- Maintain cleanliness of truck cab (keep free from debris inside and outside)
- Review routes prior to daily deliveries
- Distribute and/or Facilitate staff communication; Ensure communications reach all associates in the storage center
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

**MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES**
- Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: Market Manager or Territory Manager
- Job is **NOT directly** responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management)

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements**
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior supervisory or team leader experience desired
- Commercial license with air brake endorsement required General Class 5 licence with air brake endorsement acceptable in Alberta, Manitoba and British Columbia only.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience employed as PODS driver
- Must maintain a current/valid driver license from the province of residence
- Must meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards which includes no moving violations during the past three (3) years (insurance requirement)
- Must be at least 21 years of age (insurance requirement)
- Possess a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (if applicable to license held)
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software
- Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to frequently remain in stationary position for driving Commercial Motor Vehicle or operating forklift
- Ability to frequently ascend/descend cab of truck and forklift using three points of contact
- Ability to frequently move about and position self frequently to operate equipment and deliver containers
- Ability to occasionally move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs (22 kg)
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus; strong sense of spatial relations to park vehicle and negotiate tight spaces
- Ability to frequently write, use computer, operate a motor vehicle, operate equipment, use handheld device, and manipulate documents
- Frequently required to read documents and write neatly, legibly and transcribe accurate information
- Ability to frequently communicate and exchange information with manager, co-workers and customers

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Shift start times may vary; Some additional hours may be required including Saturdays/Sundays; Required to work overtime as needed.
- Travel requirements: Within Location Territory
- Storage centers may not be climate controlled except for specific areas.
- Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.
- Regular attendance and punctuality required
- Subject to pre-employment criminal background check in accordance with company policy
