The Health & Wellness Centre at the University of Toronto Scarborough provides health promotion, primary care and counselling services in an interprofessional shared care model. The team delivers student-focused care and support that is compassionate, culturally responsive and evidence-based and supports students in achieving their goals and potential by inspiring hope, promoting healthy choices and supporting the healing process. Under the general direction of the Director, Health & Wellness Centre, the Finance & Business Officer is responsible for completing financial and budgetary duties for the Health & Wellness Centre. Responsibilities of the role include a combination of financial administration, independently maintaining and updating the budget model, financial analysis, forecasting, reconciliation, and human resources activities in order to support the daily operations of the Centre.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Making recommendations on budget allocations involving multiple sources of revenue and/or recoveries (i.e. medical billings, ancillary fees, grants, etc.)
- Forecasting, planning and monitoring multiple complex budgets
- Monitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocations
- Preparing budget variance reports
- Reconciling accounts
- Implementing plans and process improvements for administrative workflow
- Liaising with service provider to coordinate the resolution of technical/administrative issues
- Liaising with internal contacts to resolve accounting, payroll and/or HRIS processing issues

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree with a specialization in finance, accounting or other related field of study, or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum four years of related financial experience specifically in the areas of monthly statement reconciliation, budget preparation, forecasting, analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing complex budgets independently.
- Advance Excel skills including use of pivot tables, conditional formulas etc.
- Strong experience with budget models/modelling and adjusting budgets for operational efficiency.
- Working knowledge of financial and human resources information systems, such as SAP (HRIS and FIS).
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Tact, diplomacy, good judgment and detail oriented.
- Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within an inter-disciplinary team environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
