**Telemedicine/Virtual Care Nurse (in-person, various locations)**
Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centre
Part-Time (0.5 FTE) Permanent ($23,878 - $29,029 / year - based on 17.5 hours/week)
Belleville & Quinte West Community Health Centre (BQWCHC) offers community-focused health promotion, illness prevention, and primary health care services. The Centre supports diverse populations at all ages and stages of the life cycle with an emphasis on those who are high risk and/or are experiencing barriers to accessing services.
BQWCHC is the host organization for Telemedicine/Virtual Care Program in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties - serving clients from Picton in the south to Bancroft in the north, Brighton in the west and east to Belleville**. **As part of a regional Telemedicine/Virtual Care Team, the nurse works on site at various locations to plan, co-ordinate, support, promote, and expand access to high quality, in-person clinical services between clients and remote specialist services, clinics, and programs using existing and emerging virtual technology (including Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) and other virtual platforms). The Nurse participates in consultation appointments by providing client exams/assessments using tele-diagnostic equipment and contributes to the objective of growing virtual technologies in healthcare at partner sites as part of a regional strategy.
**Key Areas of Responsibility**:
1. Promote virtual care to patients, health care professionals, the community, and advocate for the integration of telemedicine/virtual care across the health care related organizations in the region
2. Facilitate health assessments and procedures using virtual care platforms based on specialty protocols
3. Triaging referrals, care coordination, system navigation and communication with referring provider
4. Collaboration with health care providers at regional and provincial levels
5. Program development and promotion
6. EMR tasks including scheduling, tracking referrals, messaging, faxing and uploading documents
**Qualifications**:
1. Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
2. Minimum 3 years clinical experience in a health care setting - preferably community-based
3. Familiarity with telemedicine services, including Ontario Telehealth Network and other virtual platforms to support virtual clinical assessments, a definite asset
4. Experience collaborating with primary care providers, specialists, and regulated health professionals
6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
7. Superior organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
9. Excellent interpersonal skills, including evidence of solutions-focused thinking
10. Knowledge of local health system and partners, a definite asset
11. Valid driver’s license and access to reliable, insured vehicle **(travel will be required)**
