Lab Technician

The Lab Technician position is a permanent, full-time position. This is a twelve-hour, continental swing shift position based on 84 hours worked in each two week pay period with every other weekend off. In this position you will be expected to:

- Collect, process and analyze routine and non-routine fermentation samples and final products to ensure they adhere to the required specifications.
- Complete required documentation to release shipments of final product
- Understand the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of specified lab instruments: gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, titrators, pH meters, moisture analyzers, density meter, spectrophotometer, etc.
- Calibration and set up of equipment prior to analysis. Maintain equipment calibration records.
- Follow all company health, safety and environmental policies.
- Follow all Quality system protocols and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Work in other areas of the Quality Department when needed.

**Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary education (degree and/or diploma) in a science related program (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Environmental Science) is preferred.
- Experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
- Ethanol or distillery production experience is an asset.
- Able to work well under pressure during high peak workloads and balance conflicting demands of high volume versus quality of results.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess scientific data.
- Must have his/her own transportation.
