**Student - Corporate Communications Student (Contract)**

The Halton Regional Police Service is currently seeking one (1) energetic, collaborative, and innovative individual to join our Corporate Communications Unit as a Summer Student from May to August.

**About the Role - How You Will Contribute to the Service**:
**What YWill be Responsible For**:
The Corporate Communications student will provide administrative support and assist with the implementation of Corporate Communications programs. The Student will also shadow and provide communications support to members of the Corporate Communications team in the areas of strategic communications, media relations, social media, community engagement, and internal unit support.

**What You Will Bring to the Role**:
**Education, Certifications and Qualifications**:
The Student must be currently enrolled in a full-time post-graduate certificate in communications, public relations and/or graphic design.

**Previous Experience, Knowledge and Skills**:
Experience with InDesign Suite, photography and/or videography would be considered an asset.

Note: The successful applicant will need to pass a background check to the satisfaction of the Service This will include reference checks with previous employers, verification of educational achievements, and a criminal background screen.

**Hourly Rate**:This is a paid student position ($19.43 per hour) for a four-month term (May to August 2024) contract.

**Working Hours**: 35 hours per week: Monday - Friday. This position is based out of our Oakville Headquarters facility which is located at the QEW and North Service Road West.
