**You, as an Estimator, Insurance Assessment, will**:

- Assemble accurate, wholesome, timely, and well-organized estimates, including lump sum, unit rate and construction management for residential, commercial, civil, and industrial Insurance Losses on a consultancy basis.
- Be responsible for pricing out various projects based on previous historical rates and productivity in regions across Western Canada
- Focus on building relationships with Insurers, Adjusters and Owners for future opportunities.
- Attend Insurance losses to verify scope to assist with estimating exercise. Work with clients on a consultancy basis to determine specific project details.
- Maintain historical databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference.
- Communicate effectively, estimates with narrative report for submission to clients.
- Work with Building Consultant team (PA&M) to identify risks in project estimate, verify scope of work and ultimately deliver the required class of estimate for clients in Insurance sector.
- Review third party estimates for accuracy and report via technical narrative to clients.
- Seek new opportunities for PA&M team in both insurance and owners rep sectors.

**Is this the right role for you?**
- You have a construction-related degree/diploma and a minimum of 4 years of experience in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional) estimating, restoration estimating or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Ability to use Excel, MS Project, Building Connected, Xactmate, RSMeans, Bluebeam is an asset
- You have a working knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts.
- Estimating experience in Lump Sum, Construction Management and T&M contracts is essential.
- You have experience in completing own forces estimates including but not limited to selective demolition, rough carpentry and concrete and formwork.
- You work well in a team environment with strong personal values that align with EllisDon's core values
- You have the ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations within a team
- Be comfortable working autonomously, while providing updates when needed, and following EllisDon procedures at all times
- You have a strong understanding of insurance, restoration, construction beyond estimating including scheduling, project management, risk assessment, constructability, and market conditions.
- IICRC, PQS and RICS certifications are an asset.
