**Summary**:
Reports to the Manager - Maintenance Services and works under the direction of the Foreperson - Grounds. Performs tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of district grounds, sport fields, and playground equipment.

**Qualifica tions**:
Completion of grade 12 or equivalent plus additional short courses in small equipment repairs, pesticide control, landscape maintenance, and basic horticulture.

Minimum of 6 months recent grounds related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.

Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to use judgement and tact when providing information. Ability to work as a member of a crew.

Valid B.C. Driver's license. Safe driving record.

Basic knowledge of related standards, practices, regulations, codes, methods, tools, and equipment.

Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Good mechanical ability and ability to operate and maintain appropriate tools and equipment.

Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work practices.

Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.
