Irrigation Technician

**Role Summary**

As an Irrigation Technician with RLC Landscaping, you will work on service calls and projects of all sizes and types. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work on-site to excavate, install, repair and maintain underground irrigation systems, sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, valves and other watering devices. You must also be comfortable operating and adjusting various computerized irrigation systems, as well as performing routine service maintenance on a wide range of manual and motorized tools and equipment pertinent to irrigation.

**About the Position**

**Type**: Permanent, full-time

**Days/Hours of Work**: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

**Wage**: Hourly

**Location**: Various locations around southern Vancouver Island

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Daily on-site work to excavate, install, repair and maintain underground irrigation systems, sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, valves and other watering devices.
- Program and adjust watering schedules with various irrigation controllers; assist with water audits and maintain computerized irrigation systems, including radio or telephone communication equipment.
- Operate and perform routine service maintenance on a wide range of manual and motorized tools and equipment pertinent to irrigation, while providing direction and training to other staff as required.
- Load and unload equipment and tools into work vehicles.
- Drive work vehicles to and from sites.
- Adhere to all safety precautions.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Experience working with irrigation systems of a variety of sizes, types and complexities.
- Detailed oriented and excellent organization skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from the crew leader and clients.
- Service oriented and self-motivated.
- Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions for extended periods of time.
- Communicates effectively; speaking multiple languages is preferred.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.

**Education and Experience**
- At least five years of irrigation experience is preferred.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a clean driving record.
- Must be over 18 years old.
