Lawn Mower

**Summary**: Responsible for maintaining lawns by mowing, trimming and cleaning up the area in the spring, summer and fall seasons; and performing a variety of landscape tasks in the spring and fall seasons, and for snow removal in the winter season.
**General Responsibilities**:
- Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe manner by obeying motor vehicle regulations, implementing training, identifying/reporting required repairs, completing routine maintenance, and by keeping the vehicles and equipment clean and tidy
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles, tools and equipment by conducting inspections, performing minor maintenance tasks, and cleaning on a daily basis
- Complete and submit all required paperwork on a timely basis
- Work in a safe manner by wearing personal protective equipment, and implementing safety training
- Perform other related duties as assigned
**Mowing Responsibilities**
- Perform recurring mowing and maintenance tasks efficiently to company standards by using a variety of tools and equipment, leaving the property in top condition.
- Develop, maintain and strengthen business relationships with existing and potential customers by engaging them in a respectful and courteous manner
**Landscaping Responsibilities**:
- Perform Spring and Fall yard cleanups reporting to a team lead.
- Implement the landscaping plan by performing tasks with the living (everything from plants and shrubs to flower beds) and/or non-living elements in landscaping (such as a brick patio, a stone wall, or a wooden arbor), by using a variety of tools and equipment to company standards, leaving the property in top condition.
**On-Call Snow Removal Responsibilities**:
- Perform on-call snow clearing for Armdale’s clients ensuring snow clearing is performed to company standards and in a safe manner.
**Technical Competencies**:
- Experience working in lawn care, landscape maintenance or landscape construction is considered an asset
- Grade 12 or GED from a recognized educational institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A valid Nova Scotia Drivers’ License, with clean driving abstract
- Ability to work outside for extended periods of time in all weather condition
- Ability to work with stamina in a physically demanding environment
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights and weekends on occasion
- Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and hand/power tools
- Ability to bend, stretch, work in a squatting and kneeling position for long periods of time with lots of opportunity move around
- Ability to lift and carry 20 kg over short distances unassisted
- Experience operating plow truck and/or other small snow clearing equipment is considered an asset
- Access to a reliable Smartphone with at least 500MB of data/month
