**About Us**
Elizabeth Fry Toronto delivers gender based, trauma informed services and advocates for justice and equity for women and non‐binary people who are criminalized and their families. We envision communities where women are not criminalized.

**Summary**
Elizabeth Fry Toronto has undertaking a project called WE LEARN funded by the Women and Gender Equality
(WAGE) to support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID‐19, through systemic change. This project will bring together a network of multi‐sectoral partners, including diverse women peer leaders with lived expertise, to address gaps and barriers, implement strategies, and develop pathways to improve the economic security and prosperity for women who have been in conflict with the law, as part of an inclusive feminist recovery. This multi‐sectoral network may include community‐based employment service providers, city representative, academic institutions, multi‐sector employers, social entrepreneurs, and community‐owned businesses.

At the end of the WE LEARN project, Elizabeth Fry Toronto will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by increasing networks and collaborations to accelerate systemic change, and supporting the positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision‐making power to support women’s equality.

This project seeks to offer accessible employment and learning opportunities for women who want to build their advocacy skills to inform and guide project implementation and decision‐making. The Employment Advocacy

**Responsibilities**:

- Informing and guiding project implementation
- Engaging in partnership exploration, information sessions, and network meetings
- Participating in project evaluation and knowledge sharing activities

**JOB POSTING - Employment Advocacy Worker**
- Advocating for removal of systemic barriers to employment with particular focus on women from Black, Indigenous and people of color communities
- Participate in staff meetings, project meetings, professional development activities and monthly supervision meetings

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Lived or living experience (current or past) with being in conflict with the law
- Understanding experience of marginalized groups and why they may come into conflict with the law
- Understanding of systemic barriers to employment
- Understanding challenges and key issues individuals face who have been impacted by the Criminal Justice System
- Familiarity with Elizabeth Fry community members and ability to build trust with those who are, have been or at risk of being in conflict with the law
- Anti‐oppressive, anti‐racist, harm reduction, trans‐inclusive approach
- Ability and willingness to follow workplace policies and procedures
- Ability to follow through on commitments
- Understanding of workplace boundaries and ability to maintain them while working in the community
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
