The rectory at St. Peter's Church in Dartmouth is home to five priests. Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish is looking to hire a cook to shop for their groceries and prepare meals for them. The Glebe Cook will ensure that the residents of our rectory have meals prepared and ensure that inventory and stock levels are maintained and the budget is followed.

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- Create a meal plan within a defined budget.
- Order and receive food orders and kitchen supplies (ability to drive and shop preferred, mileage covered).
- Preparing and cooking a hot lunch and dessert every weekday and easy to prepare foods throughout the week for off-hours.
- Setting the table, serving lunch, clearing lunch, cleaning the kitchen, and taking out garbage
- Preparing food for parish events as required
- Laundry duties as required
- Experience as a cook, experience working with seniors as a cook or dietary aide an asset.
- Knowledge of food handling, dietary, and nutritional best practices. (Certification or education an asset).
- Ability to meet physical requirements of position.
- Reliability, dependability, confidentiality, and tact.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong ability to exercise judgment.
- Professionalism and presentability.
- Driver's license and access to a vehicle is a strong asset. Reliable transportation to and from work is required.
- A practicing Roman Catholic is preferred, comfort working in a Catholic setting is required.
- Need to be able to pass a criminal background check and vulnerable sector check as a pre-condition of employment.

This is a part-time, fixed term contract one year (1-year) role that will require an average of 20 hours per week.
