The Project Manager I of the DTO Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible to oversee the successful delivery of Digital Transformation Office (DTO) projects. This includes tracking and reporting on the scope, schedule, budget and resources associated with each project and on aggregate (as a DTO program) and working actively with project managers and business leaders on the timely resolution of challenges. The Manager of DTO PMO will establish and maintain processes that support effective project and DTO program governance, including risk and issue management, status reporting, and decision and deliverable tracking.
The Project Manager I will set and oversee standards for program and project management tools that enable visibility to work progress and consistency in reporting. They will maintain visibility to an Integrated Program Plan covering milestones, dependencies, and shared resources across projects.
The Project Manager I will also oversee components of contract management with third-party service providers and vendors. This includes support to prepare and review of Statements of Work and applicable Change Orders, time tracking for third-party time across the program, invoice oversight, and onboarding. In this capacity the Manager will work closely with partners in Finance and Procurement.
The individual will lead and mentor a team PMO Analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, supportiveness and consistency within the team. They will provide coaching, feedback and performance reviews that supports the team’s long-term development and success.
**This is an 18 Month Limited Term Employment with eligible benefits and 4 weeks’ vacation.
**What you’ll do**
- Set standards and tools for the effective management and stewardship of DTO projects.
- Ensure that project status reporting is completed on a weekly basis, with a focus on scope, schedule, budget and resourcing.
- Support DTO Director on preparation and delivery of governance and leadership updates regarding plans and progress of all DTO projects.
- Lead regular DTO project budgetary reporting and reviews. Includes working with project managers to prepare and review monthly project budget reviews for distribution and discussion with Program leadership.
- Lead cross-DTO program meetings as a means of communicating and monitoring project health and supporting resolution on escalations from project teams.
- Maintain cross-Program resource plan and support conversations and escalations with respect to resource requirements, allocations and conflicts.
- Work with and direct project managers to develop and maintain Integrated Program Plan that includes program milestones and visibility to cross-project dependencies.
- Oversee and manage the DTO RAID Log, and work with Program leaders and project managers to understand, escalate and mitigate risks and issues.
- Identify and monitor upcoming formal DTO decisions (e.g., addition or removal of scope, go-live approval); provide project managers with guidance on the appropriate timing, channels, approvers and approval processes.
- Review third-party invoices on a monthly basis, in coordination with DTO Project Coordinator.
- Work with DTO Project Coordinator to ensure that document management processes and structures are in place for all DTO projects and program artifacts.
- Other duties as assigned.
**What you'll bring**
- A bachelor's degree in business. Diplomas may be accepted with sufficient employment experience.
- 8 years professional experience in the Project Management and technology implementation, ideally within shipbuilding, manufacturing, or construction industries. Demonstrated increased levels of responsibility.
- Excellent knowledge of program and project management processes and tools.
- General knowledge of contracting processes.
- Strong coordination skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate significant resources in support of meeting program or project objectives.
- Knowledge of program and project performance metrics including the ability to identify and manage to key metrics across scope, schedule, and budget.
- Strong problem-solving skills and self-organization.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with ability to adapt based on audience needs.
- Excellent computer skills including Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
- Experience aggregating information as part of delivering meaningful executive-level presentations.
- Lead and mentor a team of PMO Analysts, fostering professional growth.
- Ability to work with limited direction.
- Positive, goal-oriented individual with a sense of urgency.
- Sets high standards and can manage both detail as well as big picture issues.
