**Job Description**:
We are seeking instructors to teach physical geography courses for the Summer 2023 (May - August) semester. All courses will be taught in-person, and not online. Please note that work available is dependent upon summer course enrolment.

Courses will include:

- GEOG 1180: Physical Geography: Meteorology, Climatology and Biogeography (2 sections)
- classes meet as follows: (1) Mondays 0830 - 1020, Wednesdays 0830 - 1120, and (2) Tuesdays 0830 - 1020, Thursdays 0830 - 1120

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Maintain currency and strive for excellence in instructional practices and approaches.
- Ensure effective use of available class time, and maintain appropriate office hours to ensure availability for student consultation.
- Maintain collegial working relationships.
- As needed, participate in program design and review.
- As appropriate, actively seek opportunities to integrate students and learning into organizations and/or the community.
- Be a positive and active contributor to the Department of Geography and Geology, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Community Programs, and the College.

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of an M.Sc. in Physical Geography (emphasis on meteorology and climatology) from a recognized graduate program is required. Experience in post-secondary teaching in-person in a traditional lecture format, as well as online, is preferred. Additional required qualifications include excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and ability to work with culturally diverse groups of students. Preference will be given to applicants qualified to teach a broad range of physical geography and geology courses.

Salary Range: Salary placement is on Langara instructors’ salary scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
