The MDRT adheres to recognized industry standards and performs a series of detailed technical duties related to the disassembly, decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, functional testing, storage, and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and medical devices for various areas of the hospital and performs related clerical duties and record keeping.

**QUALIFICATIONS: (Education, Certifications, Experience, Licensure)**
- REQUIRED:

- Certificate of MDRAO (formerly CSAO) medical device reprocessing technique course within last 5 years or willingness to complete
- Certificate of Olympus Reprocessing Specialist Technician Course completion or willingness to complete
- PREFERRED:

- Education or experience in microbiology and aseptic technique
- Medical Device Reprocessing certificate course from a College of Applied Arts and Technology or an Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning (i.e. Mohawk or Seneca College or willingness to complete

- Proficiency in decontamination
- Proficiency in preparation and packaging

- Proficiency in scope reprocessing (high-level disinfection)
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Proficiency in use of safety equipment

**SELECTION PROCESS**:
