**Job description**

Blue Grass Ltd is currently seeking a qualified, self-motivated estimator for commercial landscaping construction. This is a dual role of the front-end estimating work along with managing projects from contract award through planning, execution, control, and completion. We require a detail-oriented person who can multi-task and manage deadlines effectively and has an attitude of quality and excellence.

**Job Duties & Requirements**:

- Create tender bids and general sales estimates for landscaping construction/maintenance projects.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications and RFPs to determine the applicable scope of work and technical requirements. Identify and incorporate project risks.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings. Conduct field measurements as required.
- Produce accurate, well-organized, and detailed price estimates and proposals in a timely manner for Stipulated Price, Design-Build, and Construction/Project Management projects.
- Understand contractual terms and conditions and associated requirements and risks.
- Obtain sub-contractor quotations, ensure the quotes meet contract documents and negotiate pricing. Issue properly documented sub-contracts when awarding work.
- Create the project work breakdown structure, budgets, and schedules for execution and tracking. Monitor progress, track materials and labour hours and manage change orders.
- Collaborate with operations and landscape construction staff in the execution of projects and identify lessons learned for future landscape execution and estimation.
- Maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders (owner, consultant, general contractor, sub-contractors, Blue Grass personnel). Regular and timely communication is critical.
- Meet with potential clients to discuss options for proposed services.
- Excel at various challenges in a multitasked position from estimating lead through to the completion of a landscaping construction project.
- Work in the office and the field in a fast-paced environment.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 5 years experience in commercial landscape construction estimating and project management.
- Horticulture diploma, LGAP, or proven industry experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in time management, task prioritization and meeting deadlines.
- Have the personal drive and ability to undertake new challenges and responsibilities within Blue Grass Ltd.
