- The Friends_ is recruiting Independent Living Assistants in the Powassan and surrounding areas for the Low Acuity for Seniors, Outreach and Respite programs. These programs support those with permanent physical disabilities as well as seniors living in their own homes to age in place by providing some assistance with safety/med checks, meal preparation and personal care, all while encouraging/facilitating client ability to gain/maintain independence. **Qualifications**:

- interest/experience supporting seniors and adults with physical disabilities living in their own home with health care needs
- background/training in health related field such as PSW/DSW certification
- understanding of and commitment to independent living and client right to direct their own care
- excellent physical strength and stamina
- ability to work with direction and independently
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- sound judgement and discretion in confidential matters
- reliable vehicle, travel is required

**Responsibilities**
- Provide compassionate caregiving and support to individuals in their homes.
- Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation and light housekeeping.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and their families to ensure their needs are met.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' conditions to Supervisor.

**$3/hour wage enhancement is included in the above rates**

**Travel time and mileage paid between all client visits**

**Job Types**: Permanent, Casual

Pay: $22.00-$24.91 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
