**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and/or process hourly payroll for employees
- Prepare calculations for new hires, changes, terminations, etc.
- Reconcile source deductions, benefits, and WCB
- Process remittances related to payroll including disbursements to benefit carriers and tax authorities
- Liaise with staff and management on payroll related inquiries
- Develop various month end reports
- Prepare Records of Employment using ROE Web
- Prepare various correspondence, statistical summaries, and other material related to payroll function
- Assist Management with internal and external audits
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed to support the overall goals of the organization

**Qualifications**:

- Have the legal right to work in Canada
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- PCP designation and experience using an in-house payroll system or HRIS software for employee record management are assets
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Computer skills, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in an office setting with payroll experience
- Strong time management, and organizational skills
- High degree of attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Capability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

**Working Conditions**:

- Monday to Friday, on-site.
- Working in an office environment.
