**Full Time, One Year Contract**

Geneva Centre for Autism is currently seeking an Employment Consultant as part of their new Autism Workforce Development Hub.

The Role:
The Employment Consultant is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new Geneva Centre for Autism employer partners. The Employment Consultant will work closely with employer partners, offering workplace trainings, and serve as a liaison between the employer and client by providing consultative services. The Employment Consultant is also responsible for creating and providing training and oversight to GCA Employment Facilitators who will support clients in developing appropriate and applicable employment readiness skills such as interview skills, communication, social skills, resume writing and on-site job coaching.

Core Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):

- Build and maintain relationships with existing and new Geneva Centre for Autism employment partners.
- Provide employment consultative services to employer partners to address potential barriers and support strategies specific to their workplaces.
- Liaise between employment partners, Geneva Centre for Autism staff and program participants.
- Work closely with the Clinical Supervisor in the development of group based and individual employment curriculum.
- Support in training GCA Employment Facilitators on employment readiness skills, assessments, curriculum and job coaching.
- Additional duties/responsibilities as required to meet the needs of the department.
- Recognized university degree in a related field (behavioural sciences, psychology)
- Obtain/working towards completion of employment consulting certificate
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with providing employment consultation, counselling, and coaching with employers, employees, other related parties in a workplace setting
- Minimum 2 years’ experience implementing instructional/skill building programs for youth or adults with autism, developmental disabilities, or other communication disorders
- Experience incorporating methods of applied behaviour analysis to a consultative practice training employers, employees, staff, and clients
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Ability to lead team meetings
- Demonstrated ability to work within the community to enhance public awareness of the strengths and challenges of individuals with developmental disabilities
- Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles
- Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
- Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19
- Ability to travel within GTA

Working Conditions:

- Flexible hours of work may be required
- Ability to work independently
- Off-site client requirements (travel to employment partners, job sites, community)
- Outside normal working hours to meet client needs when necessary
- When necessary, must be able to wear a mask and shield

**Salary**: $67,044-$74,601
