Sierra’s heavy civil division has the equipment, trained operators and expertise to complete a wide array of projects including subdivision servicing, building services and sitework packages, municipal water systems, wastewater treatment plans, sewer and watermain, roads, golf courses, retention ponds, erosion control, earthmoving and demolition._

Due to an influx of projects, our Infrastructure division is currently seeking to add an experienced Construction Surveyor to our team.

**Basic Function**:
Reporting to the Division Manager, this position is accountable for working as part of a team providing Construction Survey support to the Project Manager and Superintendent while ensuring efficiency in all areas including client satisfaction.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Establish and uphold both vertical and horizontal surveying controls for projects.
- Stake out reference points, lines, and levels to guide construction.
- Generate and verify topographical surveys.
- Gather and report data on slab flatness.
- Utilize GPS surveying equipment to ensure accurate and precise measurements.
- Perform quantity surveys to determine the volume of materials required and used in construction projects.
- Maintain As-Constructed drawings to reflect the final details of completed projects.
- Oversee all aspects of survey projects, including planning, client communication, cost estimates, cost-tracking, resource allocation, and invoicing.
- Conduct and review survey calculations.
- Create and maintain CAD files with the Survey Control Plan for each project.
- Ensure quality control measures are implemented and documented.
- Review project deliverables before they are released to clients.
- Handle the weekly maintenance and ongoing care of all survey equipment.
- Communicate project status effectively with the team.

**Skills, Experience and Requirements**:

- Post-secondary diploma in Construction Engineering Technology or similar program
- Minimum two (2) years of construction experience, specifically in Infrastructure
- Minimum two (2) years of construction surveying experience within the construction industry an asset
- Prior field surveying experience or a relevant education with experience surveying (CET)
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook and general computer competency with the ability to learn new programs as required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Familiar with design and construction guidelines such as DGSSMS and Book 7
- Meticulous daily note-taking
- Communication and teamwork skills through constant interaction with Project Managers, Foremen/Contractors, Municipal Representatives, Clients/Owners
- Attention to detail and accuracy, planning and organization, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
