Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Supervisor is responsible for overall functions of the residential program including; staff training, implementation of client behavioural support plan, staff scheduling, administrative duties, household maintenance and safety, treatment planning, integrated case management and professional and community liaison.

**HOURS & WAGE**

The Program Supervisor will work a 40-hour work week. Wage Rate: $25.50-$27.75/Hr

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Education: Related degree plus 2 years’ experience in a similar residential setting or related diploma plus 3 years’ experience.
- Must own a vehicle and hold a valid B.C. Driver’s License.
- Must complete an acceptable Criminal Record Search Report
- Must hold a current First Aid/CPR certificate.
- Must have completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.

**SKILLS**:

- Must demonstrate experience dealing with Adults with challenging behaviours related to developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other mental health issues, strategy development, mediation, counseling, advocacy, community networking, and life skills management.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of different care approaches, the development of behavioural support plans, and legislation and government regulations applicable to the program.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with community resources and within a team setting.
- Must demonstrate clear, direct and sensitive verbal and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate experience with residential program management and development.
- Must demonstrate experience with staff recruitment, hiring and training.
- Must demonstrate experience with supervision.
- Must demonstrate clear, direct and sensitive verbal and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate experience liaising with community resources and multi-disciplinary professionals.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
**Client Responsibilities**
- In a residential setting, assist staff with incorporating behavioural plans for client self-care and daily life skills, e.g. toileting, dressing, preparing special dietary requirements and eating.
- Determine and train the staff team to implement a behavioural support plan which incorporates the following six (6) domains:

- Sensory integration
- Safety
- Communication verbal and non-verbal (e.g. Picture Exchange Communication System(PECS), sign language, computer assisted tools, social stories)
- Community integration
- Life skills
- Social development
- Oversee medication and training of staff including dispensing to client, inventory, monitoring dosage effectiveness in consultation with outside professionals, maintaining security of medication, etc.
- Maintain the residence for the client including all home and appliance repairs and landscaping.
- Maintain the program vehicle used to transporting the client to appointments and other events.

**Supervision**:

- In consultation with Program Manager, recruit, hire, orient, train and complete performance evaluations of program staff.
- Supervise staff in reference to case planning, integrated case management, implementation and follow-up.
- Provide clinical supervision on a regular basis.
- Assist and support staff in the development of personal wellness and professional development.
- Provide crisis case management consultation when required.
- Respect and assure confidentiality of staff issues.

**Administration**:

- Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
- Ensure all reports, updates, statistics, time sheets and petty cash records are completed within deadlines and reviewed.
- Monitor and coordinate staff holidays, medical days and leaves with the Administrative Assistant.
- Provide Program Annual Reports.
- Report to the Program Manager all critical incidents.

**Communication**:

- Establish professional working relationships with government Ministries and other relevant agencies in order to facilitate appropriate case management in the best interest of the client.
- Participate in agency supervisory meetings and training.
- Provide advocacy as required.

**Professional Development**:

- Maintain knowledge of all relevant services and programs.
- Keep informed of all current trends and issues.
- Maintain a working relationship with other community service providers, stakeholders and interest groups.
