**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**

We are looking for a creative Chemist who has a strong knowledge of skin and hair physiology and enjoys conducting Scientific Literature Research.

This position will be located at our **head office in Toronto**

**WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE**
- Research raw materials (RM) to identify the mode of action, and recommend the best RMs/actives based on the formula delivery systems to optimize the claims and effectiveness
- Collaborate with the principal scientists and senior chemists to support selecting RMs/actives and new technologies to complete the assigned New Product Developments (NPDs) and to improve the robustness of the formulations
- Design of experiments (DOEs) to mitigate potential stability challenges due to RM/actives and delivery systems
- Support the development of new formulations and concepts from ideation to launch following the company’s vision
- Coordinate with RM suppliers on strategic innovations
- Support the successful transfer of the lab manufacturing process to Pilot and manufacturing, and further support validation of manufacturing procedures
- Aid to troubleshoot existing products following a thorough analysis, and setting up a plan of action
- Support other R&D functions, Regulatory, Clinical Research, Analytical Development, and other departments
- Support the completion of the Change Control Forms (CCFs) for the NPDs/Existing Product Developments (EPDs)

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE**
- Good technical knowledge of existing and latest developments in cosmetic formulation technology, actives, and functional raw materials
- Practical knowledge of product behaviour and main stability issues in cosmetic formulations, and the strategies to overcome them
- Good understanding of skin and hair physiology
- Good documentation practices
- Minimum 3+ years of formulation experience in an innovative cosmetic environment
