**About the Role: This is a Full-time, Salaried position.**

**About The Packer - Crating Technician**

MAD Elevator Inc. Ottawa division: ECR Elevator Cab Renovations designs, manufactures and installs elevator cab interiors and is seeking a Crating Technician to join the team.

Responsible for the building of custom wood crates, cushion skids, pallets and packing, weighing, labelling, and loading materials to be shipped.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assemble containers and crates, pack goods to be shipped, and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions.
- Prepare and set up machines and tooling for woodwork manufacturing such as: vertical saws, drills and nail guns.
- Pack items efficiently and prioritize shipments effectively.
- Work some hours in the Glass Shop and Wood Assembly.
- Perform tasks with accuracy utilizing established checklists.
- Work well independently and/or with others to accomplish production goals.
- Take initiative and work with mínimal supervision.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs; may work in hot areas 5%, noise 0%.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety as well as active participation in 5S activities in work area.

**Attributes, Skills and Knowledge**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience in Manufacturing or related field is preferred
- Able to read blueprints and take measurements
- Experience with woodworking, cutting wood, and use of various saws
- Experience with measurement tools and hand tools
- Organized, and highly detail-oriented
- Able to lift 50lbs

**This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location. Hours are typically 6:00am to 2:30pm with flexibility.**
