The garden and apothecary department grows seasonal foods that get delivered to the kitchen staff and served in delicious meals for our guests who stay at the spa. We maintain all the big gardens onsite and offsite, including our Meditation garden, Lavender labyrinth, Zen garden and edible flower garden. At the spa we harvest plant matter that is then used in different ways, it is distilled into floral water, soaked in oil for a macerate, soaked in alcohol for an extract or dried. It all gets used for our skin nourishment product line, product used in the spa treatments, and products for retail.

We are outside working on the grounds every day, maintaining ground of this size is labor intensive. We are weeding and maintaining the gardens majority of the time, with lots of planting and harvesting for the kitchen.

**Key Objectives/duties**
- Watering Monday, and Thursday at the inn and offsites
- Harvesting Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays
- Weeding of gardens (Main grounds and offsites)
- Cleaning of stills
- Handling tools, cleaning and maintaining equipment
- Cleaning of shop
- Planting of vegetables
- Picking\ foraging plant materials
- Fixing walkways, and other property damage
- Trimming trees and shrubs
- Outdoor decorating
- Following proper dress code
- Being prompt and punctual for shifts

**Physical Requirements - must be able to stand for long periods of time, must be able to lift up to 30 kg**

**job requires squatting, kneeling, bending, lifting a minimum of 20lbs, twisting at the waist and reaching above shoulder height.**

**Hours: 8:00am
- 4:30, 7am -3:30pm, Monday to Friday**

**Length of employment: Spring to fall (September)**

Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
