St. Matthews Day Care is a non-profit, charitable organization providing child care for children aged 4 months through 12 years.

Our summer camp is for children who have completed Kindergarden and under 10 years old. We provide a variety of weekly activities and field trips to keep the children engaged.

As a summer camp leader, you will be on a team with four other staff members to deliver the fun and excitement.

Hours of Work / Compensation
- Full time summer position.
- Shifts are 8 - 9 hours which includes a 1 hour unpaid lunch break. Shifts will vary during the operating hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
- Start date - June 5, 2023
- End date for the position - September 1, 2023
- Hourly rate - $18.55 Responsible Adult / $19.00 ECEA

**Qualifications**:

- Must be 19 years of age
- Ability to read, write and speak English at a high level
- Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid or Standard First Aid. Must be obtained before June 30, 2023
- Have completed a course, or a combination of courses of at least 20 hours duration in child development, guidance, health and safety or nutrition [Responsible Adult Training], Must be completed before June 30, 2023. We will reimburse you the cost of the program. Details provided at time of hire.
- Experience working with children (maybe volunteer work)
- The following qualifications are considered an asset: Food Safe Level 1, High-Five, Babysitter training, Early Childhood Educator / Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certificate, Education Assistant,

Canada Summer Jobs
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation regulations.
