About the Opportunity

We are growing and currently have an exciting opportunity for a Surveyor, Construction Layout to join our NuFrame Concrete team in the Lower Mainland, BC on a full-time basis. At first, you will be working at our Langley site, but you might have the opportunity to work at our other job sites throughout the Lower Mainland.

You will be responsible for laying out all concrete elements and structures using a total station. Reporting to your on-site manager, you will work with a team of carpenters, to ensure precise and timely placement of concrete formwork.

Your Layout responsibilities include (but are not limited to) working on:
Detail excavation of footings
Grades and elevations for excavations
Walls and columns on footings and slabs
Slab bands and beams on suspended slab forms
Steps and elevation changes on suspended slab forms
Key areas such as elevator cores
Curbs and planter walls

To keep a high level of safety and site maintenance, you may also be handling various tasks outside your main responsibilities as guided by your on-site manager.

About You

In order to qualify for the Surveyor, Construction Layout position, you will need a minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry with concrete formwork. In addition, this role requires a Valid Driver's License.

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
Work ethic, reliability and integrity
Expertise in concrete total station projects, so mínimal to no training is required
Ability to fully understand structural and architectural drawings to guarantee the layouts match
Proven ability to work in a safe, accurate, time-sensitive manner
Demonstrated teamwork and understanding of delay impacts on construction progress
Effective communication skills to work with carpentry teams for clear information transfer, minimizing delays
Experience and awareness to anticipate and provide for upcoming steps
Thorough knowledge of structural concrete processes and assemblies
Comprehensive understanding of concrete forming tools and proficiency with smartphones and computers
Ability to fully comprehend structural and architectural drawing
Carpentry experience (asset)
