**Position Title**:Associate Dean, Faculty of Social & Community Services

**Status**: Full-Time Admin

**Hours**:37.5/hrs wk

**Faculty/Department**:Faculty of Social and Community Services

**Campus/Location**: Lakeshore Campus

**Salary**: $120,000 - $160,000

**What you will do**:
Under the direction of the Senior Dean FSCS, the Associate Dean provides academic and administrative leadership, including leadership with equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives that support students, faculty and staff within the Faculty.

Key responsibilities include:

- contributing to Faculty level strategic planning;
- providing leadership to a team of effective and dedicated program coordinators, faculty and support staff;
- the recruitment, selection and leadership of exceptional faculty and staff;
- participating in a variety of internal and external committees that contribute to the success of the College;
- working with multiple stakeholders and partner groups to develop new initiatives including articulation agreements;
- establishing and maintaining budgets;
- and the capacity to facilitate applied research and social innovation through support of the Centre for Social Innovation

The Associate Dean will also initiate, facilitate and actively participate in the development and implementation of new academic programs and the ongoing review of existing programs in response to changing economic and market pressures within industry, college and ministry standards and guidelines.

The incumbent must possess strong emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills with the ability to connect and communicate with people while demonstrating patience and understanding.

The applicant should possess experience in the following: leadership and motivation of faculty, staff and students in an educational environment; hiring and directly supporting the development of exceptional postsecondary teachers; serving the needs of students from diverse backgrounds in a range of programming; marketing and promoting college programs; monitoring program budgets; developing and launching new programs; leading or otherwise being a champion of student success, including partnership agreements and new ventures; practicing a collaborative leadership style; research capacity, particularly where this has involved students and community partners.
