- The duties and responsibilities of a Vocational Instructor include continuing excellence in one’s field, instructional and professional duties, professional development and service.**Functions and Duties**
- Instructional duties may include any or all of the following: instructional (teaching assignments); course and program preparation and revision; practicum placement; student contact; student advising; evaluation and marking of student work and other functions related to instruction.
- Professional duties may include any or all of the following: curriculum development, student registration and pre registration duties.- Service may include any or all of the following: school visitations; participation on OC committees; attendance at articulation meetings; representing OC at other function; administrative and other duties**Education and Experience**
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field. An Instructor’s Diploma or valid BC Teacher’s Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment is preferred, and will be required following appointment in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Five years’ experience in the mental health, social service or community living fields.**Skills and Abilities**Preferred Qualifications**
- The Human Service Work Diploma program at Okanagan College prepares graduates to work in the developmental disability/community living and mental health fields. Extensive knowledge, understanding and recent experience working in one or both fields are considered assets.
- A Masters’ Degree in Social Work or related discipline, is considered an asset together with teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
- As a way of demonstrating engagement in a rapidly changing field of practice, leadership experience in the field is also highly valued**Desired Start Date**

**Schedule**

**Annual Salary/Hourly Rate**
- Salary range $62,828 to $100,958 annually; normal starting salary between $69,017 and $75,206 annually, dependent on relevant education and experience.**Appointment Type**
