**Term** Permanent Part-Time (10 hours per week)
**Monthly Stipend**:1463.94 in accordance with the BC Provincial Residential Caretaker Framework
**Monthly Rent**: $510.00 (includes Heat, Hot Water, and shared cable in a common space)

**Position Summary**: Under the direction of Manager of Seniors Housing, the Live-in Caretaker will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of Tina Baptiste Suites (TBS) in and around the property and provide on-site monitoring and reporting. You will assist the ASK Wellness Society Team to manage the day-to-day operation of a residential apartment building with the goal of having clean, quiet maintained building with a happy community and residents. The Live-In Caretaker is not compensated for mileage or time that occurs and is inclusive of the monthly stipend. Service delivery is based on a client centered, non-judgmental perspective.

**Specific Responsibilities Guidelines**:

- Contribute to the protection of Program Participants from abuse and/or when they are in distress.
- Maintain positive and professional boundaries with all tenants and Program Participants.
- Monitor and report any concerns regarding the suites to the Manager of Seniors Housing and/or the Emergency After Hours On-Call Worker.
- Refer tenants and Program Participants to the Manager of Seniors Housing when any questions arise regarding the suite (i.e. visitors, maintenance, pets etc.).
- In the event of an emergency call 911, followed by the Emergency After Hours On-Call Worker.
- Work with the Manager of Seniors Housing and the Property Services Department when making decisions around the general maintenance of the building and/or suites.
- Monitor the buildings alarm system and either contact the necessary authorities in the case of an emergency or deactivate the alarms (smoke alarms, fire alarms, etc.) in the case of a false alarm.
- Complete minor maintenance tasks (changing batteries in smoke alarms, changing light bulbs, etc.) when necessary.
- Monitor and move along community members who are loitering in and around the property and back parking lot.
- Ensure compliance with all Society supportive standards, policies, and procedures.
- When required complete written reports, case notes and Critical Incident reports.

**Daily**
- Inside of building is checked and walked with spot cleans done where required with emphasis on the lobby, tenant entrance, side entrances, laundry room(s) and any amenity rooms.
- Any garbage inside or outside of the building is picked up when you see it.
- Check garbage dumpsters that they are not overflowing and arrange for extra pickups if required.
- Remove any non-recyclables from exterior bins.
- Common area is kept neat and tidy.

**Weekly**
- All common areas of building including hallways, public washroom, lobbies, laundry, and amenity rooms are vacuumed, dusted, and cleaned.
- Exterior of building is walked with all garbage picked up and bagged.
- Sanitize washers and change lint trap on dryer.
- All glass entrance doors are cleaned inside and outside (front door should be cleaned as required).
- Boiler, electrical and storage rooms are checked with any garbage or disallowed items removed.
- Clean and sweep around garbage and recycling bins.

**Monthly**
- Sweep or mop boiler and storage room floors, dust off heating equipment and pipes.
