**PART-TIME DIGITAL NAVIGATOR, NEWCOMER PROGRAMS - CONTRACT**

**Position Type: Contract, Part-Time, 15 hours/week (flexible, negotiable and based on available hours)**

**Available hours: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm**

**Tuesdays & Thursdays between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm**

**Position is based out of Southfields Community Centre located at 225 Dougal Avenue in Caledon with occasional work/visits at the CCS Main Office located at 18 King Street East in Bolton **(Hybrid - combination of remote and **on-site work **required)

**Position Overview**:The Digital Navigator will work closely with the immediate team members (LINC Instructors, Settlement Worker, Digital Outreach Lead) and extended colleagues to create opportunities that support newcomers accessing online and hybrid language training and settlement services.

**Position Deliverables/Accountabilities**: Reporting to the Manager, Newcomer Programs, the incumbent will:

- Support the implementation of the Rudder pilot project
- Coordinate, administer and lead onsite orientations for new clients
- Plan and deliver online digital PD and training for instructors
- Provide support to instructors in the use of learning platforms and recommended technologies
- Work with instructors in integrating and enhancing digital literacy skills within the classroom
- Support the development of processes and policies for online language delivery within specified program areas
- Support the development and maintenance of learning platforms and databases as required
- Develop and maintain lists of recommended digital educational tools to complement existing tools
- Curate instructors’ online pages and assist in ensuring quality control of online resources
- Work on projects to support and advance online learning in consultation with relevant stakeholders
- Stay current with new trends and research recommended practices for online language delivery and technology supports
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with other Service Provider Organizations
- Provide support to LINC, Settlement, and Eh-Café clients, volunteers, and staff.

**Summary of Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
- Recognized TESL qualification considered an asset
- 2 years’ experience in a similar position teaching adults
- Experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations (newcomers to Canada)
- Experience delivering technology training and support
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
- Experience in online teaching /distance education
- Experience in ESL curriculum development an asset
- Experience delivering direct service to newcomers preferred
- Experience working with CLB and Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA) preferred
- Understanding and knowledge of adult education principles
- Understanding and knowledge of learning management systems and educational technology
- Effective Communicator; strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Passionate about helping others
- Committed to working with a team to build a great customer experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of additional languages such as Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Ukrainian is an asset
- Access to a personal device (smart phone or tablet)
- Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
