As a key employee in the Jonathan Stone Medicine Professional Corporation, the Medical Secretary is the first line of communication with patients and community partners. The successful applicant works autonomously to meet the highest standards of patient care and provide support to the Physician to ensure a smooth and efficiently functioning medical office.
The job includes (but is not limited to):

- Front line public relations role providing timely, professional and informative service to patients, service providers and outside agencies/organizations.
- Ensure that referrals are entered into EMR and forwarded to Physician in a timely manner.
- Register patients at office appointments, create and maintain accurate patient records
- Arrange for appropriate patient follow-up appointments, testing, referrals to other providers
- Accurately maintain the Physician's calendars and schedules including office, clinic, operating room and additional meetings as may arise.

Does your previous experience include the following:

- Medical Office Administration Diploma/Certificate or relatable education preferred.
- Previous experience (minimum 2 years) in an administrative role in a medical office setting.
- Proficient computer skills particularly with Word, Excel, Outlook and EMR software (ACCURO experience a definite asset)
- Ability to make decisions, exercise good judgment, discretion and initiative when dealing with confidential information and/or in responding to inquiries
- Understanding of health care billing
- Attention to detail, confidentiality and accuracy in work
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and determine priorities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to function in a small team environment
- Excellent oral communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner
- Dependability, punctuality and excellent attendance are essential

Above average compensation to start ($20 - 22 per hour), some flexibility with scheduling
