BASIC FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor the mixer is responsible for, but not limited to, operating the forklift and acquiring materials to help facilitate production, mixing product to prepare for packaging operation and meeting all established standards of safety, quality, productivity and good housekeeping within Heritage Coffee Co.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and following all Safety Rules at Heritage Coffee Co. Ltd. Follows all policies and procedures and ensures compliance to the Heritage Coffee Co. Ltd. employee handbook.

Responsible for following all work instructions and complying with Company standards on the use of personal protective equipment.

Responsible for following all SQF guidelines and policies in letter and in spirit.

Pre-use inspection of assigned forklift at the start of each shift

Preparing mixes of hot chocolate and cappacino products for machine operators

Driving the forklift in a safe manner strictly observing forklift driving codes of conduct (copy attached)

Maintain the equipment used and keep the working areas clean and organized at all times.

Plan, organize and expedite material delivery and removal to all packers in various types of storage containers. Including but not limited to coffee, film and boxes.

Transfer boxes from the box warehouse to the staging area in shipping and keep the staging area as neat and tidy as possible.

Helping to organize the warehouse by restocking film, reorganizing previously received or used materials and ensuring all materials are returned to the proper storage locations.

Combine any bags and bins of same grind and type of coffee to optimize usage of space and minimize waste element

Recommend to production supervisor and management modification of material flow to optimize production and space usage.

Tag all containers with visible labels to clearly show blend, grind or bean

Provide assistance to team members in solving work related problems and report any conflict / challenges you are facing to production supervisor to ensure a timely and professional resolution

Assist with other duties and responsibilities in the production department as they arise during the shift and are requested by the production supervisor

Qualifications:
Minimum grade 12 or equivalent, and previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Basic literacy (English) and numeracy

Good Knowledge of all policies and procedures, coffee products, boxes & films, etc. is preferred.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Competent Forklift driver with appropriate certificate

Fall arrest training with appropriate certificate

Excellent communication, troubleshooting, problem solving and organizational skills

Must be a team player, willing to assist others in a fast paced environment

Motivation/Commitment, adaptability and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
