Prospects for advancement exist within the organization as we offer outstanding opportunities for professional development and future employment in an accredited agency. **This position is a temporary, 8-week position with full-time hours (35 hours/week) and is conditional upon the approval of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.** Under the supervision and guidance of the REDIlives Manager, this role will be primarily responsible for assisting in improving mobility programs to improve individuals quality of life.

**This position is funded through Canada Summer Job grant program, and eligibility criteria are as follows**:

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age **at the beginning** of the employment period
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work with an individual to improve mobility in support of walking
- Based on observations and information from service providers, develop goals for improved mobility
- Identify movements and exercises, with modifications as required, in support of individual's abilities and goals
- Create a program and establish a schedule for progression of movements
- Adjust program as needed to accommodate needs of the individual
- Report results of the program and provide recommendations for future programming

**Requirements**:

- Currently pursuing and/or completed post-secondary education in a related field
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently
- Current CPR / First Aid Certification
- A positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and act on their life choices and seek active participation in the community.
- Efficient organizing and time-management skills
- Clear and current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check or one that is acceptable to the Executive Director

Pay: $18.15 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
