**Chaplain**:
Luther College is a Federated College at the University of Regina and offers degree programs in the Faculties of Arts, Science, Media, Art and Performance (MAP), and La Cité (French), with excellent pre-professional program options. While completely academically integrated with the University of Regina, Federated Colleges are administratively and financially independent from the University. With an enrolment of approximately 600 students and space for more than 200 students in residence, Luther College at the University of Regina is committed to retaining the personal atmosphere, individual attention, and sense of community that ensures students thrive.
Luther College provides the highest quality of teaching and fosters outstanding research. Our teaching, research, and community life are informed by five key principles: commitment to global citizenship, engagement in social justice, pursuit of a sustainable environment, demonstration of high ethical standards, and reflection on values. Luther is home to the Nonprofit Voluntary Sector Studies Network (NVSSN), a community-driven network made up of professionals from the nonprofit and voluntary sector, students, faculty members, staff, and campus partners.
Luther College also operates a high school campus which shares a Board of Regents, President, and College Leadership Group.
**Mission**
Luther College prepares students to be compassionate, creative, and critical thinkers, through academic excellence and a community of care that is rooted in our call to love and serve our neighbours.
**Vision**
Luther College makes transformative change for a more grace-filled, just, and joyful world.
Luther College has developed a set of values which inform and inspire all that we do. These include:
- **Rooted and Open**: Rooted in the Lutheran intellectual tradition and open to insights from other religious, spiritual, and secular traditions. In our Canadian context, we feel especially called to recognize and value Indigenous worldviews, knowledge, and perspectives.
- **Excellence**:Innovation, creativity, exploration, and critical thinking and the desire to do our best in everything that we do
- **Compassion, Care and Stewardship**:Care for all entrusted to us — students, one another, our resources, and the world we live in
- **Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion**:Safety, acceptance, respect for all while valuing differences in individuals and among people(s)
- **Integrity**:Honesty, transparency, and accountability
**Description of Duties**:
Reporting to the President, the Chaplain is responsible for assessing the pastoral needs of Luther College at the University of Regina and responding accordingly. The Chaplain is an integral part of the mission of the College, distinguished by a Lutheran heritage of excellence in scholarship, freedom of inquiry, and a faithful seeking after truth. The Chaplain will work with and support students and employees of diverse backgrounds. This role involves nurturing spiritual growth, promoting spiritual inquiry, and serving as a key role in support of the general well-being of every member of the College, and where practical, the wider University community.
The Chaplain also has a special focus on caring for the student residents living in The Student Village (TSV) Residence at Luther College. TSV has been intentional in ensuring resident wellness and care as part of our mission.

- **Campus Religious Life**
The Chaplain provides word and sacrament ministry through regular worship services and through additional times and forums for worship during the week. The Chaplain involves students and other staff members, as they are interested and able, in the planning and leadership of worship opportunities. The Chaplain is available and qualified to provide instruction for entrance into the Christian church through baptism. The Chaplain explains the work and scope of the campus ministry program to prospective students, the university community, national and synodical structures of the Lutheran and Anglican churches, and the local Christian community, and in other ways broadens the scope of religious life.
