**Youth Development Worker**

Zagimē Anishinabēk is a progressive First Nations government, located around 22 KM Northeast of

Grenfell Town in Saskatchewan.

**SUMMARY**: The Youth Development Worker is responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising an innovative youth program, for community residents aged 5 through 18 years, including but not limited to: personal health and wellness, athletic and recreational wellness as well as initiatives to support learning success.

**DUTIES**:

- Undertake youth discussion forums for the purpose of developing a structured youth program for the community.
- Development of an annual workplan that includes youth individual and group wellness initiatives, organized sport development, recreational and leisure time initiatives and integration of these activities into a monthly event calendar.
- Referrals to community supports where appropriate for youth struggling with mental health or addictions issues, risk and safety factors or learning challenges.
- Administration of the athletic sponsorship program on behalf of the community members.
- Research and secure supplemental program funding from any available source and reporting regarding the same.
- Administration of the annual program budget in accordance with policy framework.
- Assist with the maintenance of the health resources center and replenishing supplies and resources as required.
- Ensure the security of all digital and physical information/resources within the health center in accordance with Health Canada standards.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent and related youth development training; formal and informal may be considered.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task responsively to the needs of a high traffic service center.
- Be punctual, dependable, reliable, and willing to work flexible hours.
- The ability to take direction while also being able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License and meet band vehicle driver requirements.
- Submit a Pre-employment Substance Test and Vulnerable Record Check prior to commencement of employment.
